My name is Mackenzie Bertelsman.

I'm excited to share a glimpse into who I am and what started Mackenzie B. Photography.

I'm married to my best friend, a mom to two incredible kiddos with a third on the way, and most importantly, a believer in Jesus Christ.

I spent so much of my childhood playing in some of the most breathtaking locations. From a young age I loved taking pictures and, because of my mom's love for documenting our family adventures, grew an appreciation for capturing the little moments in life.

Flash forward twenty some years my husband, Ryan, and I were getting ready to welcome our first child into the world. After our daughter was born, it was a dear friend of ours who introduced me to 35mm film photography. When I received the scans back from our newborn shoot with our daughter... I was hooked.

My sweet husband bought me a point-and-shoot film camera and my love and appreciation for film has only continued to grow. The ability to document life and the beautifully chaotic transitions that accompany growing and raising new lives is something I now adore.


There is convenience in being able to capture memories with the cameras on our phones, but slowing down and truly documenting cherished moments has allowed me to create memory books that I am so proud to share with my children when they grow older. We have our truest selves frozen in time, ready to be reflected on in another twenty plus years.


My hope is to come alongside families, creatives, and individuals who have a deep desire to document their lives (the celebratory moments and the seemingly mundane) in a way that radiates authenticity and emotion.
